• Most clients see their therapist for 50-minute sessions 1-2 times per week. Depending on your needs over time, you may see your therapist more or less frequently. For clients engaging in EMDR therapy, longer sessions (~60-90 minutes) may be recommended. Our therapists don’t generally clients less frequently than once every other week. You have the right to speak to your therapist about the frequency and length of your sessions.

  • Bloom Therapy participates in several insurance payor networks including: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice PPO, and United Healthcare PPO. All our providers are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Choice PPO, while only some of our clinicians are in-network with United Healthcare PPO plans. For these payers, we can bill your insurance provider directly. You will be financially responsible for any deductible, co-insurance or co-payments not covered by the insurer.

While we are considered in-network for these payers, we are not always considered in-network with every plan that these payers offer. Specific plans may be added or removed from a particular insurance network. Sometimes, individual plans may have what is called a ‘carve out’ for behavioral health. This means that behavioral health services, including therapy, could be provided by a different network than that of your regular insurance plan payor/provider.

The best way to determine if Bloom Therapy is in-network with your plan is to call your plan directly and ask if our practice and clinicians are in-network for your plan. When you call your insurance company, you can ask them to verify if Bloom Therapy LLC (Elizabeth F. Elliott; Katherine B. Delfino) are considered in-network for your plan.

  • Many clients see us as an out-of-network provider. In this case, Bloom Therapy is unable to bill directly to your insurance provider. You would be responsible for paying directly for services, after which we will provide you with documentation needed to get reimbursement directly from your insurer (typically in the range of 60-80%). To verify your out-of-network behavioral health benefits, we recommend that you contact your insurer and inquire about your out-of-network benefits.

  • Bloom Therapy fees range from $150-200 per session, depending on the clinician, length and type of session. If you are using insurance to cover the cost of sessions, your out-of-pocket costs may be significantly lower as we will directly bill and collect reimbursement from your insurer prior to charging you anything.

  • Bloom Therapy will provide you with an electronic “Good Faith Estimate” prior to your first session. You will be able to access this at any time via the patient portal.

Under Section 2799-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

    · You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    · You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    · Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    · If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    · There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate.

    · Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith

  • While our therapists are trained in evidence-based modalities of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), we do not use these therapies as our foundation. We operate from the foundation of modern psychodynamic therapies.

When it benefits you, we will utilize specific concepts or tools from CBT or DBT to support our work together. We can speak this language and will support you to continue to engage and extend DBT or CBT skills and tools that you may already have and find helpful.

However, if you are primarily seeking a therapist who will provide a structured CBT or DBT approach to the work, we will not be the best fit. In this case, we would be happy to help you identify referrals to trusted colleagues who we know are doing great work from a CBT, DBT or other evidence-based behavioral framework.
